A quick post about a 1and1 WordPress issue that I experienced.
I have one of my blogs hosted with 1and1.co.uk and started getting "500 Internal Server Error" when I tried to save a page/post. Also some of the plugins setting pages would not display.
I was therefore delighted to find a simple fix (for PHP running out of memory):
Create a text file and call it “php.ini” (without the quotes of course) and with a single line of code in it:
memory=20MB
Then FTP this file into the directory /wp-admin/ within your WordPress installation on the web server.
This solved my problems so I am posting the information here is case others have the same problem.
Admin comment – Good information about WordPress and its installation. For WordPress hosting we recommend Hostgator.
